First Pakistani Foreign Minister's Visit to India Since 2011 for Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Meeting
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari exchanged greetings at the dinner hosted by India’s foreign minister to mark the beginning of the two-day conclave of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Goa.
Bilawal Bhutto's visit marks the first time a Pakistani foreign minister has visited India since Hina Rabbani Khar met SM Krishna in 2011.
The SCO meeting presents an opportunity for the two nations to discuss their strained India-Pakistan relations and find ways to move forward. While the main deliberations of the meeting are scheduled for tomorrow, the exchange of pleasantries between the Indian and Pakistani delegations is a positive sign for the future of bilateral ties
