Azcorp Entertainment held the 6th episode of its ongoing digitally trans missioned show, Basila Talks, at Greenwich University, moderated by Ariba Ashfaq. The topic for the episode was Interfaith Harmony and its Importance in the society. The panel had in attendance representatives from different faiths, such as Christianity, Islam and Sikhism.
The discussion revolved around the problems related to interfaith harmony and intolerance faced by the community, the lack of understanding of religion and the stigma attached towards openly discussing and accepting other's religious beliefs. Father Abid Habib said, Interfaith Harmony is imperative for an evolved society and progressive mindset of its members and he shed light on the lack of knowledge that leads to ignorance and ultimately indifference towards interfaith harmony in society.
Each individual has the right to practice their faith and MUST respect other's right to do the same, said Sardar Hira Singh who eloquently described the importance of freedom to practice religion. Panelist Ustaadh Waqeeh Ali highlighted the importance of tolerance and said, "Tolerance is a virtue each religion teaches, it is only through tolerance that we can ensure peace in society."
The purpose of Basila Talks is to ignite conversation around topics and societal problems which get shoved under the rug due to the taboo that is attached to them. By encouraging dialogue and hosting these talk shows azcorp aims to set into motion a positive mindset that stimulates conversation and promotes values of equality for all and freedom of speech.
