Cinepax Cinemas - Next Stop Murree The First Cinema of the City




Cinepax, Pakistan’s favorite cinema chain, today announced the opening of 9th cinema in Pakistan, and the first one in Murree.

Cinepax Murree, has a single screen with a capacity of 300, and promises to offer the visitors signature Cinepax experience comprising impeccable customer service blended with digital movie screening.



Hashim Raza, CEO Cinepax shares his feelings about the addititon of this new cinema, “Very excited to open Cinepax, a name that is synonymous to quality family entertainment all over Pakistan. In Murree it will not only entertain Murree & surrounding area residents but will also delight tourists vacationing with families.



Millions of people from all walks of life and from all over Pakistan visit Murree, and with the Cinepax Murree their travel experience can now include watching the latest Pakistani and international releases, in addition to the city’s various tourist attractions.



Cinepax in September opened it doors to its seconds cinema in Lahore with a 300 seat multiplex. Cinepax Lakecity and in the next 12 months plansto open five more cinemas across Pakistan.

The 70’s blockbuster classic ‘SHOLAY’ hits cinemas across Pakistan in 3D


The premiere of the Bollywood classic Sholay held at Atrium Cinemas on Thursday.

The legendary cinematic miracle of Bollywood ‘SHOLAY’ is showcasing in cinemas across Pakistan. The movie was launched in 3D & 2D at a glitzy and glamorous premier event last night in Karachi. The film is one of its kind and even after 40 years left the audience awe inspired and in a state of complete rapture.

The premiere was attended by the members of Pakistan media fraternity and the red carpet was an exciting affair with stalwarts of the past and some of the rising stars, sharing their excitement regarding the screening of Sholay in Pakistan. Renowned ad-filmmaker and music video director Saqib Malik was excited about the shows screening and exclaimed, “Ever since I was born I have always been told how great the film Sholay and how it was the most ‘ultimate’ film ever made. And since I have never seen it on the big screen I am very excited about finally watching it cinemas and that too in 3D.”


The star studded cast of the movie includes some of the most prominent names in the history of Indian cinema like Amitabh Bachan, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachan, Sanjeev Kumar and Amjad Khan. SHOLAY is the second movie after DEVDAS to launch in Pakistan in a project to showcase Bollywood classics, spearheaded by Mandviwalla Entertainment. 

Actor Alyy Khan, who has starred in several Bollywood films and Pakistani TV serials revealed his fondness for the movie especially, Gabbar Singh. He said, “I’d like to play Gabbar, as he is not only a larger than life villain but also an iconic character. And there are very few villains like him.”

The plot of the movie revolves around two small-time thieves Jai (Amitabh) and Veeru (Dharmendra) who are hired by Thaakur (Sanjeev Kumar) to avenge the killings of his entire family by the big time goon of that area called Gabar (Amjad Khan). The movie is a total masala flick,
